Before the automation of lighthouses became centralised from the Trinity House Control Centre at Harwich, the Corporation operated a depot at Holyhead for the servicing of all lighthouses and buoys in the northwest (and northeast) of the England and Wales. The original buildings have mostly been handed over to the RNLI, although parts of the site have now been redeveloped. (Photo: Ken Trethewey, 2014)
